Arrest Made in Aug. 6 Shooting of Juvenile

On Aug. 6. at 6:18 a.m., Goldsboro Police Department A-Shift officers, along with Wayne County EMS and Goldsboro Fire, were dispatched to 117 Astor Ct. in reference to the report of a shooting. Once on the scene, an 8-year-old juvenile was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the left lower leg. The juvenile was transported to UNC Health Wayne and then transferred to ECU Health in Greenville for further treatment of his injury.read more »

What started as an idea to give back to children in Wayne County by giving them an inside look into the life of a firefighter became a reality on Monday morning.
The Goldsboro Fire Department hosted the first day of its inaugural Hook and Ladder Fire Camp for children ages 8 through 13. The free camp is being held all week from 8 a.m. to noon each day. read more »

Early Morning Fire Under Investigation

On Saturday morning at approximately 12:27 a.m., the Goldsboro Fire Department responded to 410 S. Leslie St. in reference to a fully-involved structure fire. After approximately 20 minutes of firefighting, the flames were brought under control. The Goldsboro Fire Department deemed the fire suspicious and contacted the Goldsboro Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.read more »
