Goldsboro Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire

On Oct. 6 at approximately 3:40 a.m., Goldsboro Fire Department units were dispatched to a structure fire at 313 N. John St. Engines 1, 2, 3, 4 Tower-1 and Battalion 1 responded with 18 personnel to extinguish the fire.

The Fire Chief and Deputy Chief also responded after the initial dispatch.

Other agencies responded, including Wayne County EMS and the Goldsboro Police Department. Mutual aid departments Belfast, El-Roy, Mar-Mac, and Rosewood were put on alert to assist if needed in the city.

Crews arrived on the scene at 3:44 a.m. at a 3,922 sq ft. vacant residential structure with smoke and fire showing. They initiated a fire attack and had the fire under control at 5:53 a.m.

Crews continued to extinguish hot spots with some difficulty due to a partial collapse of the structure. No injuries were reported and there will be no displacements.
