Structure Fire on Carolina Street Results in Total Loss

On Sept. 14 at approximately 10:01 p.m., Goldsboro Fire Department units were dispatched to a structure fire at 210 S. Carolina Street. Units arrived to find the building enveloped in fire.

The remainder of the units were called to the scene due to the large volume of fire and additional structures being threatened. Twenty-seven personnel were on the scene.

Fire units remained throughout the night to ensure there was no additional fire spread.

Since all city units responded to the incident, Mar-Mac VFD and Belfast VFD staffed two City stations for the duration of the fire. A partial call-back of Goldsboro Fire Department personnel was initiated to staff reserve apparatus and assist at the fire scene.

Wayne County EMS units responded and assisted at the scene. GFD appreciates all the agencies that responded to assist.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The building owned by David Perry is a total loss. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, and it currently remains under investigation.
