Wayne County Public Library Receives Two Grants

The Wayne County Public has been awarded two separate grants totaling nearly $95,000.

The library received a $44,902.00 LSTA EZ Grant to be used for the Creative Aging Program. Also awarded to the library was a $50,000 LSTA EZ Grant to be used for the Learning Studio Project.read more »

Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Goldsboro on Saturday afternoon for the third annual Juneteenth celebration.

Convicted Felon Arrested For Possession of Firearm

On June 15th at approximately 2 p.m., officers from Goldsboro Police Department’s VICE Unit and Special Enforcement Unit were performing surveillance of the parking lot at 518 E. Elm St., which is Donel Express Mart.

While conducting surveillance, Special Enforcement Unit officers witnessed a man in a white T-shirt with a black bag in the parking lot area conducting several hand-to-hand transactions that were consistent with drug transactions. On Saturday morning at approximately 12:27 a.m., the Goldsboro Fire Department responded to 410 S. Leslie St. in reference to a fully-involved structure fire. After approximately 20 minutes of firefighting, the flames were brought under control.
