GOLDSBORO, N.C. — History enthusiasts will have a unique opportunity to explore the story of America’s founding when the American Revolution Experience makes a limited one-week stop at the Wayne County Museum from July 28 through Aug. 1.
The traveling exhibit, created through a collaboration between the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, brings the Revolutionary War to life through an engaging blend of storytelling, interactive technology and historical artifacts.
Originally developed as an award-winning online experience, the exhibit has expanded into a traveling pop-up exhibition that will visit libraries, historical societies and museums across the country through 2027. Its goal is to connect modern audiences with the people, places and events that shaped the birth of the United States.
Visitors to the Wayne County Museum will encounter a series of display panels and interactive digital kiosks featuring historical characters from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences during the American Revolution. Through firsthand accounts, illustrations, technology and artifacts, guests can gain a deeper understanding of the conflict and the individuals whose lives were forever changed by the nation’s fight for independence.
The exhibit offers an educational experience for visitors of all ages, making it an ideal outing for families, students and anyone interested in American history.
Museum officials encourage residents and visitors to take advantage of this special opportunity, as the exhibit will only be available in Wayne County for five days before continuing its nationwide tour.
The American Revolution Experience will be on display at the Wayne County Museum from Tuesday, July 28, through Saturday, Aug. 1. Hours are 9am-2pm Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday from 10am-5pm so you can view it anytime during those hours.
