September 17, 2026, 79, Goldsboro – Roger Lee Hamilton,79, of Goldsboro, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Roger was born on June 17, 1947 in Wayne County to the late William and Vivian Hamilton.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1987, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Following his distinguished military career, he became a contractor and successfully owned and operated his own business.
Those who knew Roger will remember him as a kind and generous man with a big heart. He was wise, caring, and always carried a positive outlook that touched the lives of those around him. Above all, Roger loved his family deeply and passionately, cherishing the time he shared with them. His faith was an important part of his life and he was devoted to attending his church.
Roger’s kind spirit, warm heart, and wonderful sense of humor will live on in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jeanne Hamilton, who he loved immensely and took care of for over 30 years.
Roger is also survived by his daughter, Stacy Culberson and husband, Brad; his grandchildren, Linkin Hamilton, Alexandria Hamilton, and Tyler Klein; his great-grandchild,
Rafael Klein; his siblings, Michael Hamilton, RuthAnn Palizzo, and Carol Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian Hamilton; his children, William “Billy” Hamilton, Casey Hamilton and Sue Hamilton; his brothers, Kenneth Hamilton and Ray Hamilton.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to honor Roger’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ronnie Heath officiating with military honors.
Following the service, the family warmly invites friends and loved ones to join them for a Celebration of Life at Liberty Church in the fellowship hall, located at 204 Country Day Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530. A meal will be provided, and the family looks forward to gathering together to share memories and celebrate Roger’s life.
