September 8, 2026, 90, Goldsboro – Betty Jane (Julian) Ussary of Goldsboro passed away in her home Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Born at her family’s home in Wetherby, Missouri on Christmas night of 1935, Betty was the second oldest of nine children. Upon graduating from Faucett High School, she attended business school in St. Joseph where she learned bookkeeping, typing and shorthand. After marriage, she moved to Columbia, Missouri where she worked at MFA Insurance. When her supervisor left MFA to start Silvey Insurance, she followed and was the new Vice President’s Administrative Assistant. After the family moved to Goldsboro, North Carolina, Betty became Office Manager at McDavid Associates where she worked until her retirement.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim), parents Harold and Julia Julian, brother Frank, six sisters, Julia Johnson, Dorothy Julian, Louise Stypa, Kathy Reynolds, Mary Sutton, and Janice Goman.
Surviving is her sister Linda Stafford, son James, Jr., and grandchildren Jackson and Mary Grace Ussary.
Betty will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
