Wayne County’s Drought Conditions Ease From Severe To Moderate

(GDN) — The severely dry conditions are starting to ease across North Carolina.  Wayne County is now considered to be in “Moderate Drought” according to last week’s map from the U.S. Drought Monitor.  While almost all of North Carolina is still experiencing dry conditions, the latest map shows there has been an improvement in the conditions after some much-needed rain over the past two weeks.  Only a small area in the southern part of the state is still considered in “Severe Drought” at this time.
