GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the Aug. 15 double homicide on West Oak Street that claimed the lives of two 20-year-old men.
According to an update from the Goldsboro Police Department, detectives identified 20-year-old Jamere Sessions of Goldsboro as an additional suspect during the ongoing investigation.
Investigators obtained arrest warrants for Sessions, who was located and taken into custody without incident with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and Greenville Police Department.
Sessions is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of felony conspiracy.
Following his arrest, Sessions appeared before a Wayne County magistrate and was given no bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 19.
The charges stem from a shooting reported around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at 607 W. Oak St. in Goldsboro.
Officers responding to a report of two people being shot found 20-year-old Nasire Green of Goldsboro and 20-year-old Tristen Mason of Dudley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced both men dead at the scene.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate.
Police previously arrested a 17-year-old Goldsboro male in connection with the case. The juvenile was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of felony conspiracy and was placed in the custody of the Pitt Juvenile Detention Center. He was also given no bond.
With Sessions’ arrest, two suspects have now been charged with murder and felony conspiracy in connection with the deaths of Green and Mason.
Goldsboro Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
