GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro-Wayne Branch of the NAACP is inviting residents to engage with local candidates and learn more about issues impacting their community during its Road to November Candidates Forum on Thursday, August 13, at Fremont Town Hall.
The free public event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Fremont Town Hall, 126 E. Main Street, Fremont.
The evening will begin with a Meet and Greet from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., giving attendees an opportunity to meet candidates seeking public office. From 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., organizers will present “Your Issue Is on the Ballot,” a discussion highlighting how local elections affect everyday concerns. The event will conclude with a Town Hall Candidate Question-and-Answer Session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The forum is designed to help voters become informed before casting their ballots in the November election. Organizers say discussions will focus on issues important to local families, including education, the rising cost of living, employment opportunities, affordable housing, youth violence prevention, and public services.
Candidates interested in participating are asked to complete the online response form available at Candidate Response Form.
The Goldsboro-Wayne NAACP encourages all residents to attend, ask questions, hear directly from the candidates, and take an active role in the democratic process ahead of Election Day.
