June 28, 2026, 84, Wilmington, DE – Mrs. Sarah M. Benson of Wilmington, Delaware departed from this life on Sunday June 28, 2026.
She was born and educated in Hopewell, Virginia and had been a resident of Wilmington, Delaware until she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Goldsboro, North Carolina, March of 2026.
Mrs. Benson worked as a Child Support Enforcement employee for the State of Delaware until Retirement. She then worked for several consignment stores within the State of Delaware.
She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Gracie Judkins. Leaving her memories to share is her husband, Reverend William Benson of Wilmington, Delaware; two living children, Eugene Marsh Jr. of Wilmington, Delaware and Tammy Marsh-Suggs and husband, Ricky with whom she resided with before her passing of Goldsboro, North Carolina. She’s preceded in death by her youngest son, Jonathan Clay Marsh.
Mrs. Benson is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Judkins of Pertersburg, VA; preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Judkins, Charles Judkins and Melvin Judkins and one sister, Mary C. Hart.
She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Eugene Neal, Kevin Marsh and Rickita Marsh as well as seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. We carry her lessons, her laughter and her love forward.
At her request no formal service will be held.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
