June 19, 2026, 94, Pikeville – It is with both sorrow and reverence that we commemorate the life of Aleather Louvenia Coley (Venie), a remarkable woman, wife, mother, educator, and friend. Aleather built a life centered on family, faith, work, service, creativity, and community. She will surely be missed by those who had the opportunity and pleasure of knowing her and loving her throughout her long life.
Aleather Louvenia Coley was born on January 9th 1932 to the union of Arthur and Rena Smith of Pikeville, NC. She was the second child of ten children born from Arthur and Rena Smith.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Services to celebrate her life will take place Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at White Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Pikeville NC with the family receiving friends from 10:00 AM-10:45 AM . Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Goldsboro NC.
