Dale lived a life defined by faith, service, and genuine kindness. Whether caring for his family, serving his church, helping a neighbor, or simply sharing a smile, he made those around him feel valued and loved. His quiet strength, humble spirit, and unwavering compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He faithfully served his country as a member of the National Guard, exemplifying honor, discipline, and a deep commitment to protecting and serving others.
For more than 30 years, Dale dedicated his professional career to Americal, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his hard work, integrity, and leadership. Rising to a supervisory role, he was known as someone who led by example, always willing to lend a helping hand and encourage those around him.
Retirement did not slow Dale’s desire to serve others. He continued his life’s mission by joining Johnston Ambulance Service, where his compassionate spirit and calm demeanor brought comfort to countless individuals during their times of need. He also found great joy in helping his son-in-law, Todd, at the turkey farm, where he could often be found riding his golf cart around the property, enjoying the simple pleasures of the outdoors and spending time with those he loved.
At the center of Dale’s life was his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. A devoted and faithful member of Goldsboro Worship Center, he loved worshiping alongside his church family and living out his faith through service, humility, and compassion. For many years, he faithfully served as a greeter each Sunday, welcoming everyone with a warm smile, a heartfelt hug, a fist bump, or a high five. Children especially looked forward to seeing “Grandpa Dale,” whose genuine love and encouragement brightened their day. In recognition of the tremendous impact he made on the congregation, Goldsboro Worship Center honored him with the title of Honorary Grandfather and recently named him Volunteer of the Year.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, Dale’s legacy of faith, service, integrity, and love will continue to live on in the lives he touched. His family finds comfort in God’s promise of eternal life and the assurance that he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
