June 20, 2026,68, Goldsboro – Rickie Mozingo, 68, of Goldsboro passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Noon at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mr. Mozingo was born in Wayne County on January 31, 1958 to the late Fred Sebastian and Naomi Hobbs Mozingo.
He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School, Class of 1976 where he enjoyed playing football and recognized as a valuable player, where he also received a scholarship to NCCU at Durham where he continued to play until an injury occurred. Mr. Mozingo was retired as a truck driver for Pope Transport of Mount Olive and also Best Sand & Gravel, Inc.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Erica Latrece Bennett of Goldsboro; two brothers, Dwight David Mozingo of Goldsboro and Stephen Mozingo (Terrie) of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ruth Mozingo Higgins of Goldsboro and Shirlyn Mozingo of Valley Village, California and his four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mozingo was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward Mozingo and Wiley Mozingo.
