June 22, 2026, 80, Goldsboro – Alan Ray Hardy departed this earthly life Monday, June 22, 2026 at his home at the age of 80.
At his request, burial will be held at sea.
Mr. Hardy was born in Maine on July 9, 1945 to the late John and Bernice Hardy. He was retired from the United States Navy after 26 years of dedicated service.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Susan Hardy; two daughters, Melanie Thompson and husband, Barry and Eva Jones and husband, Patrick; his step-daughter, April Pigford and husband, Jay; his step-son, John Murray and wife, Leslee; his step-son in law, Joby Iglesias; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hardy also leaves to cherish his memories, his shipmate, Dutch Grubbs.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Lee Hardy and step-daughter, Angela Iglesias.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
