June 18, 2026, 78, Kenly – Yvonne Boyette Thigpen, 78, passed away at Wilson Assisted Living on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Born in Johnston County on September 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late James Roland Boyette and Alberta Johnson Boyette.
In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather Lewis; and siblings, Elgie Flores, Rudolph Boyette, Milton Boyette, James Rexford Boyette, and Gilbert Boyette
Yvonne is survived by her children, Audrey Lewis (Mike), Betty Baron (Emil), Ann Rhodes (Randy), Lois Payesko, and Roger Worley; grandchildren, Jason Bunn, Chris Johnson (Rebecca), Nikole Payesko, Caleb Lewis (Amber), and Brandon Lewis.
Yvonne spent her working years as a dedicated seamstress, taking pride in her work and the many lives she touched through her craft. In her free time, she enjoyed relaxing with word searches, watching classic westerns, and treating herself to a meal at Wayback Burgers. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and will be remembered for her quiet, gentle nature and contented spirit.
Yvonne will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
A time of visitation and remembrance will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A graveside service to celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Kenly Cemetery with Pastor David List presiding.
