June 8, 2026, 79, Rosewood – Carol Marie Simpson, 79, of the Rosewood Community, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Albin Anderson and Patricia Higson Anderson; her beloved husband, Lawrence Matthew Simpson; her sons, Mark Albin Simpson and Paul Edward Anderson; and her sisters, Jeanette Haisch, Patricia Sarro, and Teresa Legg.
She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and will forever cherish the memories they shared. Survivors include her daughter, Valarie Bryan and husband Michael Corey Bryan; her beloved “extra daughter,” Nichole Elicia Ouellet; grandchildren, Alyssa James, Ayden James, Jacob Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Jordan Diviney, and Daniel Diviney; daughter-in-law, Tara Diviney (Richard); brother-in-law, Bobby Sarro; a sister, Marilyn Oyague and numerous nieces and nephews, including Brian Oyague, Natalie Oyague, Sean Hults, Erin Hults, Christine Haisch, Robert Sarro, Cathy Sarro, and Jeffery Sarro
Carol lived life on her own terms and was never afraid to be herself. She enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her happiness, whether it was smoking a cigarette while relaxing, trying her luck gambling, playing bingo, or settling in to watch her favorite game shows. She was especially proud of her ability to outsmart family members while watching Jeopardy! and delighted in proving just how much she knew. Carol loved listening to all kinds of music and found joy in sharing laughter and good times with those around her.
Above all else, Carol’s greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. They were the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love, strength, and unique personality created memories that will continue to bring smiles to the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Though Carol’s presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life.
