GOLDSBORO, N.C. — An extensive investigation by the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a local man facing multiple fentanyl and cocaine trafficking and distribution charges.
Authorities say Damien Tavares Robinson, 46, of Park Avenue in Goldsboro, was identified as a source of supply for fentanyl and cocaine in the Goldsboro area of Wayne County. The investigation involved coordinated efforts between the Drug Task Force and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division.
Officials say evidence gathered during the investigation provided sufficient probable cause for officers to request and obtain arrest warrants for Robinson.
Robinson faces the following charges:
- Trafficking Opium or Heroin — 4 counts
- Trafficking Cocaine — 2 counts
- Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance — 2 counts
- Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver (PWIMSD) Schedule II Controlled Substance — 2 counts
- Sell/Deliver Cocaine — 2 counts
- PWIMSD Cocaine — 2 counts
- Sell/Deliver Heroin — 1 count
- PWIMSD Heroin — 1 count
- Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a school — 5 counts
Robinson is currently being held at the Wayne County Detention Facility under a $2,000,000 secured bond.
Authorities say the arrest represents a significant step in ongoing efforts to remove dangerous narcotics from the community.
