Mount Olive Man Arrested for Larceny

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office received a larceny report of stainless steel items valued at over $1,000 taken from a farm in the Indian Springs area on Jan. 25.

Investigation revealed that Sherrill Scott Hargrove, 47, Mount Olive, was responsible for the larceny of these items and that he had sold them for scrap.

A warrant was obtained for Hargrove for the listed charges. C-shift patrol deputies located him when they responded to a call in reference to a possible larceny in progress in the Seven Springs area.

Hargrove was arrested on the referenced warrant and received an $8,000 secured bond, and was charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, and obtaining property by false pretense, on which he received an additional bond.
