January 26, 2025, 80, Patetown —

Kenneth Ray Howell, 80, of Patetown went to be with his heavenly Father Sunday, January 26, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Howell was born  August 3, 1944 to the late George Dewitt and Thelma Horne Howell.  He was a member of Patetown Church of God and formerly worshipped at United In Christ Church.  Mr. Howell enjoyed playing with model trains, collecting nascar’s and old model cars.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Sauls Howell; one son, Ken Howell of Peletier, NC; one daughter, Tammy Howell of Patetown; his brother, Billy Howell and wife, Judy of Patetown; one sister, Faye Person of Pikeville; two grandchildren, Dustin Ginn (Blair) and Kendall Howell; one great-grandchild, J.D. Ginn; brother-in law, Louis Thompson of Patetown and his two sisters-in-law, Joy Penny and husband, Rodney of Pikeville and Kelly Howell of Patetown.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his brothers, George “Shorty” Howell, Gene Howell and Garland Howell and his sisters, Peggy Howell, Claudette Hodge and Evelyn Thompson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 5 until 6:45 p.m. at Patetown Church of God.  A service to celebrate his life will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Bishop Marvin Wiggins and Pastor Kelvin Gurley officiating.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
