The first baby of the year has arrived at UNC Health Wayne, bringing joy and excitement to the hospital. Malachi, a healthy baby boy, was born at 2:09 AM on New Year’s Day. Weighing 8 pounds and measuring 20 inches long, Malachi is the proud son of Michaela Bechard.

The Bechard family is also celebrating the arrival of a new sibling for Malachi’s 5-year-old big sister.
