Nina Jones Smith, 91, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at her home. Nina was born in Greene County to the late Hubert and Pearl Jones on October 21, 1933.

She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Nobles (Teresa), Crystal Bartlett (David), and Darren Hinson (Christa). Also 10 great grandkids, Justin Nobles, Kaylee Nobles, William Nobles, Jenna Hinson, Tyler Hinson, Austin Hinson, Alyssa Bartlett, Landon Hinson, Rylie Hinson, and McKenzie Hinson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Smith; daughter, Ruby Jean Hinson; son-in-law, L.H. Hinson; two brothers, Linwood Earl Jones and Willie Jones; and three sisters, Lula Jones, Ruby Jones, and Nancy Flowers.

Nina retired from East Carolina University where she served as the manager of central supply. She worshipped with the congregation at Pathway Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the Eureka Cemetery with Rev. T.D. Worthington and Lee Price officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of David and Crystal Bartlett, 101 Amy Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
