John Morris Davis, Sr., 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born on April 16, 1944, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Donnie Davis, Sr., and Julia Jones Davis.

A service to honor John’s life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service with Pastor Wayne Dunn officiating. Interment will conclude at Center Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

John is survived by his brother, Joe Davis; his sister, Doris Johnson; his grandchildren, Courtney Batten, Hanna Brooks, and Autumn Davis; great-grandchildren, Rayeanna Batten, Olivia Batten, Greyson Davis, Aspen Schoell, and Emery Goodwin; and his daughter-in-law, Dwaina Gregory and husband, Chad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Morris Davis, Jr.; his brothers, Donnie Davis, Jr., Bobby Davis, Billy Davis, Rudolph Davis; his sisters, Alice Earp, Julia Ann Larson, Louise Canupp, and Shelby Wright.

Services have been entrusted to Kenly Funeral Service.
