Kenneth “Ken” Ray Giddens, 78, of Goldsboro passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A private entombment will be held for the family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Ken was born in Pender County on October 26, 1946, to the late William Gray and Mary Delle Sherman Giddens. He was an avid outdoorsman and took pride in mowing yards. He loved construction work and would always see him with a hammer or tape measure in his hand. Ken was a family man who loved his family, was hardworking, and had a “heart of gold.”
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Giddens; one son, Brian Giddens and wife, Brittany of Grantham; three daughters, Kim Jackson of the home, Amanda Giddens of Goldsboro and Michelle Giddens of Goldsboro; one brother, Charles Giddens and wife, Nancy of Willard, NC.; two sisters, Sharon Hilton of Warsaw and Jean Puderbach and husband, Jack of Turkey, NC.; seven grandchildren, Hannah Keen and husband, Matt, Beverly Jackson, Tyler Giddens and wife, Morgan, Nathan Giddens and fiancée, Courtney, Zach Giddens (Kaitlyn), Brianna Giddens and Emma Gore; seven great-grandchildren and his beloved fur babies, Muffin and Bear.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by one brother, William “Buddy” Giddens, and two sisters, Freda Moore and Sylvia Stallings.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
