Crumpacker to Serve as UMO Alumni Association President

MOUNT OLIVE – Dr. Norm Crumpacker has been elected President of the University of Mount Olive Alumni Association Board.

His official duties will begin on Jan. 1, 2025. He is succeeding Julie Graham who has served as President for the past two years.

Crumpacker brings an impressive academic and professional background to his new role.

He graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science in industrial engineering (1992) and a master of science in management (1994).

While employed full-time, Crumpacker continued his education at Mount Olive College in 1996 and 2000, earning an MBA from Campbell University (1997) and a bachelor of arts in psychology from North Carolina Wesleyan College (1999).

In 2005, Crumpacker completed his doctoral degree in business administration – management from the University of Sarasota.

Crumpacker is an Associate Professor of Management and Assessment Coordinator within UMO’s Tillman School of Business.

He serves as the faculty advisor for UMO’s Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America — Collegiate and the Mu Omicron chapter of Delta Mu Delta, the International Honor Society in Business.

In addition, he is a Quality Matters Master Reviewer, contributing to the enhancement of course quality across educational institutions.

Throughout his time at UMO, Crumpacker has taken on various leadership roles, including a six-year tenure as Director of the UMO Honors Program.

Crumpacker has chaired the Southeastern Council (Region 3) of the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), advised the UMO International Student Club, and served on the North Carolina Phi Beta Lambda Board of Directors.

His contributions to academia also include his term as President of the North Carolina Honors Association.

Before transitioning to academia, Crumpacker spent eight years in the private sector, where he held roles such as Corporate Quality Manager and Industrial Engineer.

Crumpacker’s teaching career began in 2003, and he has been a valued faculty member at UMO since August 2007.

As President of the UMO Alumni Association Board, Crumpacker is committed to fostering meaningful connections between alumni and the university, enhancing engagement opportunities, and supporting the continued growth and success of the UMO community.

Crumpacker and his life partner, Amy, reside in Goldsboro.
