With profound sorrow and empathy, the staff and Management of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors announce the earthly transition of Mr. Xavier S. Branch, 32, of La Grange, NC. Mr. Branch passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Xavier Shamael Branch, affectionately known as “BigZay,” was born to Everlena Faison and Jason Branch on August 22, 1992, at Wayne UNC Health, Goldsboro, NC; Xavier passed away on October 20, 2024, in La Grange, NC age of 32.

Xavier was not just a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. His vibrant personality and innate flair left an indelible mark on those around him, making him a cherished figure in their lives.

Xavier deeply loved his children and devoted his life to them ensuring they had the best in life.
Big Zay as he was affectionately called was a skilled barber, passionate about his craft, ensuring each client left his chair looking and feeling their best. His genuine compliments and infectious laughter made his barber shop a hub of positivity. Beyond his professional life, Xavier was an avid cook, a sharp dresser, and a lover of shopping, especially for shoes and fitted outfits. His sense of style extended to his daily wear of distinctive jewelry. He was also a self-proclaimed chef, often sharing his culinary creations on social media to the delight and amusement of his followers. His dedication to his work and his love for his clients were unparalleled, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Xavier was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Grace Faison and Erma Branch, and grandfathers, Robert Branch and Johnny Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents: Everlena Faison of Dudley, NC, and Jason D. Branch of Zebulon, NC; his children: Messiah and Za’Riah Branch of Kinston, NC; his four brothers: Anthony Austin of Charlotte, NC, Allen Austin, Tyrique Branch, Joshua Branch, all of Goldsboro, NC; and one sister LaTia Branch of Youngsville, NC, His grandmother, Shirley B. Armwood of Louisburg, NC and grandfather Bennie Faison of Warsaw, NC, also survive him. Xavier’s life was enriched by a large and loving extended family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins, all of whom will miss him dearly. His close friends, whom he considered siblings, will forever cherish the joyful moments spent with him, a testament to the deep bonds he formed in his lifetime.
