October 27, 2024, 80, Goldsboro —
It is with great sadness that we announce Veronica Person Turnage peacefully departed this life on Sunday morning with her family by her side. She was born in Wayne County to the late Ada Mae Hare Person and the late Raymond Milton Person.
Veronica was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and wife. She delighted in her family, and nothing made her happier than having them together.
She spent hours working in her flowerbeds. She loved flowers and having her hands in the dirt. She could spend hours watching the hummingbirds on her back deck.
Veronica was a great cook and loved cooking for her family. One of her favorite places to go was the ocean. Her girls took her on one last trip to the beach in August. She loved riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycles. They were members of a riding club for 7 years. She was loved so very much and will be deeply missed.
A service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the chapel of Evergreen Funeral Home, Cemetery and Cremation, 3888 US Highway 70 W. Goldsboro. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, Cemetery & Cremation.

Person (Debbie) of Ridgeland, SC, a sister-in-law, Pat Person of Goldsboro, four grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Herring Tinnen (Derrick), Britany Hazelwander, Zoie Herring, and Maverick Turnage, two great-grandchildren, Zakiyah Gomes and Khalid Gomes.
