Second Annual Trunk-or-Treat to be Held at WCC

Wayne Community College is hosting its second annual Trunk-or-Treat on its campus, giving the community a chance to celebrate the Halloween season.

The event will take place on Oct. 29, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Gates will close at 7:30 p.m., but those who are in line before that time will be able to enter the event.

It is free and open to the public to attend.

This year, WCC is partnering with UNC Health Wayne to host Trunk-or-Treat. WCC and UNC Health Wayne personnel will hand out candy to trunk-or-treaters. Bags will be provided for individuals to collect candy.

WCC’s Campus Police Department will be in attendance throughout the evening. All entrances to the College will be open, and parking directions will be given upon arrival.

Three food trucks will be on campus this year. Attendees will be able to purchase refreshments from Chubby’s On The Go, The Funnel Cake Shack, and Southern Ground Coffee.

“We are looking forward to Trunk-or-Treat following last year’s inaugural event,” said WCC Vice President of Academic and Student Services Brandon Jenkins. “We were blown away by the turnout last year and greatly appreciated the community’s response and overwhelming participation.”

Last year, WCC’s first-ever Trunk-or-Treat brought thousands of people to campus to enjoy an evening of candy, costumes, and family fun.

“We hope this year’s event is even better and have made some adjustments that we hope will make the overall experience a rousing success,” said Jenkins.

WCC encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.
