Faye Sasser Hinson peacefully departed this life and joyously entered her eternal reward on Monday, September 30, 2024. She was born in Wayne County to the late George Franklin Sasser and Alice Edgerton Sasser on June 2, 1947. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her brother, George Franklin “Buster” Sasser, Jr.
Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a well-known and loved member of the community and a dedicated member of The Anchor Holds Church. Faye faithfully served her Lord through the ministries of the church. She looked forward to every church service where she could offer praise to the Lord and reconnect with her church family. Faye was known to be a prayer warrior and could often be found lifting others up to the Lord during her prayer time.
Life for Faye was deeply rooted in care and concern for her family. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was an ultimate joy. Known as “Grandma” and “Gma” to the grandchildren, she looked forward to every opportunity to be with them.
It was impossible not to love Faye’s kind smile and welcoming presence. She loved unconditionally and was truly loved by all in return. Faye will be terribly missed by her family, friends, and community.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Faye’s life at 12:00 noon in the chapel with Stan Jones officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Faye is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harry Hinson; children, Tracy Hinson Edmundson and husband, Jamie and Melissa Hinson Weaver and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Michael Derek Weaver and wife, Alaina, Brianna Edmundson Meadows and husband, Jay, Coleman Ray Edmundson, Amber Weaver Aycock and husband, Rusty, and Trenton Harrison Weaver; and great-grandchildren, Boone Davis Weaver, Mila Jade Meadows, Huck Clennon Weaver and Della Faye Aycock.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to The Anchor Holds Church, 248 Airport Road, Pikeville, NC 27863.
