Eva Inez Batten Mitchell, 95, went to be with her Lord early on Sunday morning, September 29, 2024, at Sutton’s Retirement Center. Inez was born in Johnston County to the late Buren and Eva Batten on July 7, 1929. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ralph Mitchell, and son, Andy Mitchell.

Inez always enjoyed the opportunity to serve others and for many years she volunteered in the ICU at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Holding a deep faith, Inez was a member of her church, The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Actively attended as long as she was able. God was always first in Inez’s life, above all else.

A service to celebrate Inez’s life will be Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. by the graveside in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Inez is survived by her daughters, Linda Everhart and husband, Dick of Goldsboro and Joyce Murdock and husband, Chuck of Goldsboro; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to the Ramp Ministry at First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1538, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
