Rose Marie Carlyle Brown, 69, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Rose was born in Greene County to the late Harry Carlyle and Nellie Marie Carter Carlyle on October 2, 1954. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Brown; brother, Dwight Carlyle; and nephew, Chris Carlyle.

Working as a cashier for Piggly Wiggly on Highway 70 in Kinston, Rose retired at the age of 62. She looked forward to her time at home where she enjoyed watching many movies. Any time she went to any store that sold movies, you could believe she’d return home with a new favorite.

The family will celebrate Rose’s life in a private setting.

Rose is survived by her son, Carlos Sonny Rodriguez; Shannon Taylor, whom she loved as a daughter; grandchildren, Alexandria (Scott), Aaron (Emily), Alyssa (Logan), Autumn, and Julian; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Neal and husband, Freddie; brother, Tony Barry Carlyle; nieces, Heather (Justin), Toni Ann (Brandon) and Ashley (Jake); and nephews, Anthony and Eric (Stacy).
