September 25, 2024, 82, Kenly —
Lillian May Taylor, 82, was received into the presence of her Lord in the early morning of Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Lillian was born in Wake County to the late Jack and Lucille May on April 2, 1942. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melannie Taylor Gunter, and sister, Jacqui Butler.
Retiring from Rex Hospital, Lillian spent many years in service to the healthcare community and the patients she served as a nurse.
As a member of Kenly Missionary Baptist Church, Lillian was deeply devoted to her Lord and possessed a great love for her church family. They, in return, loved her dearly. Second only to the love of her Lord was the love of family. She adored her children, and her grandchildren were her abundant blessings. She kept close contact with her extended family and was thankful for the bond they shared.
A service to celebrate Lillian’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor George Arant officiating. The family will greet friends in the hour prior to the service, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., at the church.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Kelly Graham, and husband, Jason of Kenly and Paula Leigh Storey of Zebulon; step-daughter, Betty Taylor and husband, Mark of Naperville; son-in-law, Doug Gunter of Kenly; brother, John May and wife, Gayle from Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Lillian’s memory to either the Senior Ministry or Youth Ministry at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church, 1730 NC 222 West, Kenly, NC 27542.
