Ronnie Eugene Gurley, 72, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side. Born on November 16, 1951, in Wayne County, he was the son of the late John David Gurley and Zilphia Pauline Johnson Gurley.
Ronnie was a member of Free Chapel PFWB Church. In his free time, Ronnie found solace in casting his fishing line into the calm waters, enjoying the serenity of nature. He also loved engaging in friendly competition at the pool table, showcasing his skills and sharing laughter with friends. Ronnie’s dedication to his faith and his hobbies brought joy to his life and those around him.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Houston Gurley; his son, Ernest Lee Campbell, Sr., and wife, Lisa; his grandchildren, Mike Jones and wife, Denise, Evan Fournier and wife, Phoenix; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Bailey Fournier; his siblings, Lou Sasser and Ralph Gurley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Fournier, and his grandson, Ernest Campbell, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ronnie Weaver officiating. Burial will conclude at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
