September 19, 2024, 73, Goldsboro —
Donald Neal Price (Donnie) was born in Wayne County on October 6, 1950, to Janet and Roland Price. He passed away peacefully at his home on September 19, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Walter T. Cherry.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, and also by his sons, Jamie and his wife, Sheree, Ben, and his wife, Kim. He leaves behind two grandchildren, Laney and Layton, and two step-grandchildren, Kirsten Aycock and Zander Morris.
Surviving also is his sister, Linda Cherry; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Lynette Howell; a niece and nephew, Melissa Beasley and Garrett Howell, along with their spouses and children.
Donnie enjoyed playing a good game of golf and watching a Ford win a NASCAR race. He enjoyed EVERY weekend at Sneads Ferry. Donnie also enjoyed boating and fast cars, passing on the fun of boating to his son, Jamie, and his love of fast cars to his son, Ben. Grandson, Layton, happens to enjoy both boating AND fast cars, just like his “Poohpa.”
His granddaughter, Laney, could be the apple of his eye but was often the pain in his ass- something they both enjoyed greatly and often!
Donnie co-owned Price and Son Garage for many years. He then owned and operated Rosewood Daycare, Kids and Co. Childcare, and Sandcastles Childcare until retiring.
Donnie also leaves behind his dog, Zu, and his “bestest buddy,” John Sauls, our “Johnny Dollar.”
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of St. Joseph Methodist Church in Pikeville. A service to celebrate Donnie’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Phyllis Vail presiding. Interment will be in the Howell Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers, St. Joseph Methodist Church, or Gentiva Hospice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care and comfort they provided.
