September 18, 2024, 71, La Grange —
March 21, 1953 – September 18, 2024
Sandra Tyndall Williford, 71, was received into the presence of her Lord in the early morning of Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Sandra was born in Greene County to the late Fred and Eunice Grant Tyndall on March 21, 1953. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Tyndall (Pat) of Greenville; nephew, Frank Barnes, Jr. of Goldsboro; and her husband, Jimmy Lewis Williford.
Skilled with her hands, Sandra was excellent at crocheting. She loved to make afghans for her family and made sure that each was fitting for the recipient. Around her home, she constantly spent time gardening and enjoying nature, especially during the summer when hummingbirds and purple martins were flying about.
An avid Tarheels fan, Sandra showed her dedication to her team by tuning in to every game she could find, cheering them on, and wearing their colors.
As a lifelong member of La Grange First Missionary Baptist Church, Sandra was deeply devoted to her Lord and possessed a great love for her church family. They, in return, loved her dearly. Second only to the love of her Lord was the love of family. She adored her children, and her grandchildren were her abundant blessings. She kept close contact with her extended family and was thankful for the bond they shared.
A service of love and remembrance will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. The committal will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Amy Williford, and husband, Stevie Minchew of Goldsboro; son, Gregory Williford, and wife, Laura of La Grange; grandchildren, Jessica Minchew, Megan Minchew, Dustin Williford, Nathan Locklear, Mckenzie Locklear, and Lauren Locklear; siblings, Dwight Tyndall and wife, Marilyn of Pittsboro, Carolyn Jones and husband, Steve of Clayton, and Jennifer Casner and husband, Donald of Goldsboro; nieces and nephews, Gwen Joyner (David), Chris Jones, Warren Jones (Alesha), Bailey Tyndall (Rebekah), Alex Tyndall (Karen), and Christopher Barnes; along with many friends and extended family.
