Mary Louise Powell Foss, a lifelong resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away Tuesday morning, September 17, 2024, at home.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Foss; her parents, Luby Powell and Anari Foss Powell; a sister, Marie Miller; and a brother, Johnny “J.C.” Powell.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Ray Foss of Willow Spring, and Keith Foss with wife, Jackie, of Knightdale; three daughters, Lorrie Ann Tisdale with Mark Price, of Mount Olive, Tammy Poole of Raleigh, and Rhonda Whitley with Kenneth McArthur of Dudley; a brother, Doug Powell with wife, Nancy, of Clayton; grandchildren, Teddy Janzen, Corey Tisdale and Danielle, Derek Foss and Kim, Staton Poole, Jennifer Roe and Andrew, Cameron Whitley and Kaitlyn, Ethan Foss, and Bentley McArthur; and seven great-grandchildren.
Louise was a member of Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and she had been a vital part of the Mount Olive Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary and had been its president. She had been employed in several doctor’s offices as a nursing assistant.
Louise’s family will be receiving friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21, beginning at 2 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Singleton.
Burial will follow the service at the Wilson Cemetery at Calypso.
