Larry Dean Rhodes

September 12, 2024, 67, Goldsboro —

With great sadness, our beloved Larry Dean Rhodes, 67, peacefully left his earthly home Thursday morning surrounded by his wife and daughters, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his father Clifton, brother Dennis, and dearly loved Mother, Thelma Rhodes. Larry was a resident of Goldsboro, North Carolina for all his life. Larry was a dedicated electrician for 27 years with Hill Electric. Larry was also an owner/operator of George Street Grill and Betty’s Little Grill where he enjoyed working with family. Larry was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Carolina Tarheels, and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed beautiful weather and being outside in his garage watching sports, laughing, cutting up, and telling stories, and was always ready for a scenic car ride. Larry absolutely adored his mother and took time every day to ensure she was cared for.

A service to celebrate Larry’s Life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating. A committal service will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home.

In addition to his darling wife Betty, of 37 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Tanya Cokor and husband Zeb, and Dana Harper and husband Joseph. His six cherished grandchildren, Reese, Kolby, Logan, Seth, Ivey, and Venna, and his great-grandson, Jayden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his wife, Betty, to help offset hospital and funeral costs.
