August 25, 2024, 85, Goldsboro —
Cora Hollowell Edwards, 85, was welcomed home by her Lord and by her husband on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Cora was born in Wayne County on September 1, 1938, to the late Avery and Juanita Faucette Hollowell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Enos Edwards, Sr.
A woman of deep faith, Cora spent much time immersed in the scriptures. Her love for the Lord was paramount in her life, and she trusted God’s Word to lead her daily. Cora was a member of the Johnston Community Church of God of Prophecy in Selma.
With great love for her family, Cora devoted her life to their care and well-being. She loved each one in their own unique way, but her grandchildren were by far her most prized possession. From gathering her family around the table for a delicious home-cooked meal to offering her advice, she did everything in love.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bishop Eugene Hartley and Bishop Jesse Hartley officiating. Interment will be in the Princeton Cemetery.
Cora is survived by her daughters, Shera Rowe, Phyllis Edwards, and Deborah Barker; son, William E. “Bill” Edwards, Jr.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to Johnston Community Church of God of Prophecy, P. O. Box 36, Selma, NC 27576.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
