Robert A. Faison Sr. was born on March 21, 1946, in Duplin County, North Carolina. He was the oldest child born to the late George King Faison and Lillie Mae Faison-Carlton. He departed this life on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in Newark, Delaware.
Robert was educated at Douglas High School in Warsaw, North Carolina, and graduated in 1964. He was very active within the school community. Robert believed in doing what was right and stayed out of trouble. He was a member of the Douglas High School marching band (he played the horn) and was a bus driver for the school. He was recognized for being a great dancer and the best dressed. Robert was also a member of the safety patrol committee and received a merit award for his service.
In his early 20’s, Robert moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and met the love of his life, Diane Louise Faison in 1966. Robert was a vivacious and fun-loving family man. He was truly an extrovert and a “people person.” He talked to EVERYBODY! He was affectionately known as “Rob” or “Bob” and was famous for saying, “Another Day!” Robert also greeted everyone by saying, “Happy Monday” or whatever day of the week that it was when he saw you. If it were Sunday, he would say, “Happy Sunday” to you too! Robert was an avid music lover. He was a Philadelphia Eagles football fan, and loved watching tennis and the WNBA on television.
