Marcos Gonzalez-Perez, 57, of Smithfield, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, surrounded by his family at home after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Laura Lona Trejo; his daughter of the home, Amy Laura Gonzalez; he is also survived by his parents, Aureliano and Valentina Gonzolez, of Smithfield; Raul and Fredalyn Gonzolez, and Alex and Ryan of Smithfield; and other family including Elizabeth, Josefina, Aurelio y Jauier Gonzolez Perez all of Mexico.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 24, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Goldsboro, where Marcos was a faithful member. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the church from 6-8 pm. Burial will follow the service on Saturday in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
