Betty Jo Taylor, 66, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Wayne UNC Healthcare. Betty Jo was born in Lenoir County to the late Eddie Russell Taylor and Sue Kennedy Taylor on December 18, 1957. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Kameron Josiah Harrell; and boyfriend of over 22 years, Jerry Aldridge.

Working as a waitress for many years, Betty Jo most recently worked alongside her daughter at Lantern Inn. A great cook herself, anything that came out of Betty Jo’s kitchen was excellent.

With a love for all animals, Betty Jo cared for many throughout her life. From her goats and chickens to the numerous dogs she had, she loved them all dearly.

A time to visit with Betty Jo’s family and celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:30 at Rouse Funeral Home.

Betty Jo is survived by her daughter, Tonia Renee Harrell; grandsons, Joshua Keefe Harrell, Christopher Shane Harrell, and Matthew Alex Harrell; great-grandchildren, Anara Renee Harrell, Anyiah Juliet Harrell, Ariel Marie Harrell, Ava Noel Harrell, Kai Xavier Williams, and Jaiceon Croom; and siblings, Deborah Sauls and Timothy Taylor.
