Brenda Goodman Dail, 77, peacefully departed this life surrounded by her family and friends and joyously entered her eternal reward on Thursday, July 25, 2024. She was born in Wayne County to the late Lloyd Goodman and Myrtle Pittman Goodman Raynor on July 4, 1947.

Brenda was a valued employee for Wayne County Public Schools, teaching at Nahunta School and retiring from Northwest Elementary School, still in 3rd grade. The impact of the lives that she touched throughout her career as an educator is countless.

Her deep love for her family and church was unsurpassed. Brenda was a founding member of Bethel Church in Goldsboro. She served in various roles at the church including church secretary, ladies’ auxiliary, and Sunday School Teacher for over 42 years. Brenda loved her church and church family.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Kristie Howell, and husband, Stewart of Pikeville; granddaughters, Courtney and Caroline Howell of Pikeville; brother, Jerry Goodman and wife, Judy of Goldsboro; her niece, Ginger Waller and husband, Keith, along with their children, Reagan and Hayden; and special friends, Rose Weeks and husband, Chris and Laura McGowan.

A service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Bethel Church with Rev. Steve Holder and Rev. Daniel Weeks officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
