On Saturday at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert and subsequent report of a shooting in the 100 block of N. Lionel Street outside of Piggly Wiggly. 

Upon the officers’ arrival, they located Daktari Harris, 32, in the parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. 

Emergency medical personnel responded and transported Harris to UNC Health Wayne for medical treatment. Harris was subsequently transferred to ECU Health for further treatment. He is listed in fair condition.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit were contacted and responded to the scene. This is an active investigation, and no further information is available.
