Peggy Joyce Hill, 76, passed away peacefully at Goldsboro Assisted Living on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Eason, Sr. and Margaret Gray.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Hill, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Louie Johnson.

Peggy is survived by her children, Holly Medlin and husband, Chuck, Lisa West and husband, Bryan, TJ Rawls and husband, Jamie, and Dennis Hill and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Matthew Lutze and wife Savannah, Marcy West, Thomas West, Zachary West, Landon Rawls, Jack Rawls, CJ Rawls, Noah Hill, JJ Hill, and Maggie Hill; great-grandson, Marshall Lutze; brother, Albert Eason, Jr.; sisters, Sharon Brinkman, Terri Johnson, and Donna Cuthbertson and husband, Barry. Peggy is also survived by her daughter, Laura, and granddaughter, Hannah.

Peggy had a deep love in her heart for her Lord and Savior. Peggy could oftentimes be seen reading a devotional book with her Bible by her side. Those who met Peggy might think she had a timid demeanor, but those close to her knew differently. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could light up any room with her singing and dancing. Peggy was known as a wonderful cook. She loved having her grandchildren over, spending time with them, and being called Nana brought her happiness like no other.

A graveside service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
