Ellen Rose Whitfield Larrow, 84, passed away peacefully at Goldsboro Assisted Living on June 11, 2024. Born on May 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Guy Whitfield and Mary Skittlethorpe Whitefield.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Leggett; and son, Winston Smith.

Ellen is survived by her children, Sharon Jernigan, Michael Smith, and Brenda Hawkins; three grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Whitfield, Frankie Whitfield and wife, Billi Jean, and Dick Whitfield; and sister, Joy Foster.

For many years, Ellen worked as a seamstress. Her creative nature carried over to her home. Ellen could be seen often painting and coloring in her older age. She could bring a blank canvas to life. Ellen had a love for the outdoors. She had a love for gardening and enjoying her beautiful flowers.

Per Ellen’s request, no formal services will be held.
