City of Goldsboro Begins Enforcing Downtown Parking Rules

City of Goldsboro Begins Enforcing Downtown Parking Rules

On Monday the City of Goldsboro began enforcing two-hour on-street parking downtown from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the managed parking zone.

This area includes Center Street from Ash to Chestnut; Mulberry Street from John to James; and Walnut Street from John to James.

All other streets are not included and parking will continue as before. A two-hour parking violation is $25.

Per state statute (§ 20‑37.6.), drivers who display a current handicapped windshield placard or license plate are not subject to the two-hour parking regulations.

The vehicle owner may appeal a parking ticket by requesting a hearing before the City Parking Committee.

The request can be made to the City Clerk or submitted through the City of Goldsboro website.

The request must be received within 14 days of the current violation being appealed. If the appeal is denied, the vehicle owner will be notified by certified mail and will have 14 days after receiving the notice to pay the penalty.
