Myrtle Lee Wiggs Worley, 89, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Brookdale Country Day Road. Born in Wayne County on April 27, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Henry Arnold and Minnie Strickland Wiggs.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Lafayette Edward “Pete” Worley; daughter, Carolyn W. Teasley, and husband, Roger; son, Buddy Worley; son-in-law, Ken Sykes; and her eleven siblings.

Myrtle is survived by her daughters, Ann W. Sykes and Janet W. Green, and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Samantha Kirk, Jeremy Worley, Jodie Smeal, Brian Teasley, Amanda Clutterbuck, Kara Campbell, Seth Worley, and Jacob Worley; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Myrtle’s outgoing and generous spirit awarded her many friends. She never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off of her back.

Myrtle loved her animals, playing BINGO, and most importantly, her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

A memorial service to celebrate Myrtle’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Patrick Muston officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
