CALM Hosting Community Event to Bring Attention to Substance Misuse

The Wayne County Coalition for Addiction and Life Management (CALM) is hosting “CALM Community Connect: Bridging Gaps for Healthy Communities!” from 3 p.m. to 7, on May 30, at the W.A. Foster Center, at 1012 S. John Street.

This event is an opportunity to learn about CALM, meet neighbors, and receive support for substance use challenges. It also offers attendees a rewarding experience packed with community engagement, valuable resources, and interactive activities.

“CALM Community Connect: Bridging Gaps for Healthy Communities!” will also feature an interactive simulation called Hidden in Plain Sight.

“We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the Hidden in Plain Sight prevention education activity at CALM’s Community Connect event,” said Charity Anderson, CALM’s Youth Substance Prevention Educator. “This interactive experience empowers parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their children from substance misuse.”

CALM also hopes to use the event to connect attendees to agencies and organizations across Wayne County dedicated to supporting them and their loved ones.

While this fun interactive event is free, space is limited. Secure your spot at CALM’s Community Connect now by visiting CalmConnect.eventbrite.com.
