Allied Health Graduates Pinned at Ceremony

Wayne Community College’s Workforce Continuing Education Services honored graduates of its Allied Health programs at a recent ceremony.

Graduates of the College’s Nurse Aide I, Dialysis Technician, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician, and Central Sterile Processing programs received certificates and pins to recognize their transition from students to healthcare professionals.

WCC President Patty Pfeiffer addressed the history of pinning ceremonies, noting that they date back to the 12th century Crusades. “It signifies the completion of your training and officially marks your transition into your healthcare career field,” she said. “You are now ready to serve society as a healthcare provider. We celebrate each and every one of you.”

Graduates with the highest grade point average in each class were recognized during the ceremony. Nurse Aide I students Adams, Kimbrough, Demezier, Igwilo, Tadlock, and Jennette; Dialysis Technician student Mullins; Phlebotomy students Perez Santiz, Hansen, and Marcell; Pharmacy Technician student Loving; and Central Sterile Processing student Linzy were honored for this achievement.

“You are so deserving of this time of celebration, and we applaud you and thank you for choosing Wayne Community College,” WCC Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education Services and Community Engagement Renita Dawson told the graduates.
