Traffic Stop in Buck Swamp Area Leads to Drug Arrests

On May 10, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were patrolling the Buck Swamp area when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.

During the stop, a search was conducted and illegal narcotics were located. Both occupants, Luis Angel Arandas, 26, Goldsboro, and Blanca Xochilt Paullada, 40, Goldsboro, were arrested and taken before a magistrate judge.

Arandas was charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, and he was served with two orders for arrest. He received no bond.

Paullada was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, maintaining a vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $3,000 unsecured bond.
